BLOODHOUND SSC is out of the gate

An amazing morning at the Science Museum today is one I'll never forget. I witnessed the launch of the first 1000mph land speed record car attempt. Not only that, but I'm part of the team! We'll be helping to develop the education programme, which is the driving force for the whole project. We NEED more scientists and engineers, but there just aren't enough youngster doing science and maths through school to university. So this project is aiming to inspire and motivate young people to pursue a high-technology careers that push the boundaries. The need is huge, we have to figure out how to wean ourselves of fossil fuels. Climate change is our biggest threat, and scientists and engineers are the ones to find real solutions now, and in the future. We want everyone to get involved, so go to www.BLOODHOUNDSSC.com and come onboard. It's going to be a hell of a ride!!!

Greenpower aerodynamic champions!

After another thrilling Greenpower electric car race final, Sandbach High School's sleek Zebedee car took the chequered flag. It's no accident that it also won the University of Southampton Aerodynamics Innovation Award too. It's thoughtful design and impeccable manufacturing means that it is a low drag vehicle. Low drag equals more efficiency, and that means winning races! So well done to the girls at Sandbach, and their teachers, as they have been at this for a while and finally got their just desserts.
